Amine Habki questions troubled, missing bodies, and searches for complementarity through textile works which are for him real narrative starting points.

Using the craftsmanship of embroidery in particular, the artist produces pieces in bright colors, often in contrast with the introspective nature of his work and with the scenes he depicts.

Coming from the Moroccan diaspora, he draws inspiration on this double culture to shape resolutely contemporary textile works where each fragment becomes part of the story to be told. The whole results from a crossed aesthetic – between plastic art and decorative art, between current motifs and traditional techniques – and aims to illustrate its own quest for identity as much as the story of those it represents in hybrid stagings.
