New Curators is a London-based paid twelve-month curatorial training programme led by curators Mark Godfrey and Kerryn Greenberg for aspiring curators of contemporary art from lower socio-economic backgrounds. The programme is designed to equip aspiring young curators with the knowledge, practical skills, networks and confidence needed to thrive in the art world.
This year-long fellowship culminated in the first exhibition curated by the 2023-4 Curatorial Fellows: Sueño de la Madrugrada (A Midnight’s Dream), the first UK solo show of Dominican-American artist Firelei Báez.
It was an honour and privilege to be part of this new initiative and be able to co-curate a successful show at the South London Gallery. For more information on Sueño de la Madrugrada (A Midnight’s Dream) please click here.
My deepest thanks to Kerryn Greenberg, Mark Godfrey, Heather Stevens and the team at South London Gallery.
